Imagine eating meat while avoiding fruits and rice yet losing weight at the same time. This is true as one of the best non mainstream diets, called the Slow Carb Diet, is comprised of mostly eating foods boasting a low-glycemic index or GI. A low GI is helpful because it will assist in the regulation of blood sugar values in the human body on a constant basis. Many have lost anywhere from 15 to 20 lbs of body fat in less than a month without the need of complicated scheduling or the dreaded calorie counting anymore.

The real beauty of this diet is that it promotes eating most of the food items that a typical person eats such as proteins and healthy fats. However one must do so under this diet by spacing the meals out in smaller portions which typically results to 5 to 6 small meals instead of the standard 3 big meals that we have grown accustomed to.
Under the diet one may consume fish, chicken, lean meats, eggs, beans, peas, olive oil, flax seed and so much more. Thus, a meal plan may include egg whites in the morning, tuna with vegetables for an early lunch, nuts for the first snack, grilled chicken coupled with peas for another meal and black beans with steak chunks for dinner. It’s all about simplicity and pairing most of your meals with a healthy helping of vegetables.
Food items to stay away from, however, include any type of white carbohydrate such as rice, potatoes, cereal and bread unless it is right after a high intensity workout. Simply put avoid anything that is colored white in other words. Another thing to stay away from is, surprisingly, fruits! Eating too many fruits result in your body translating that to fat which is something you obviously wish to avoid.
By sticking with the Slow Carb Diet plan one can expect to not only lose weight but do so in a manner that doesn’t completely force him or her to transform a lifestyle. As with all diets there is moderate exercise required but this diet is one of the few that will still help you lose weight even with minimal exercise. If you follow the right foods to eat then the Slow Carb Diet will help you drastically.
