It is just about everyone’s favorite time of year and that would be the encroaching tax deadline. It is there you will find tax tables, rules, and even printable forms in case you decide to file on paper. There are even forums to help you find answers that you can’t seem to find elsewhere. They have done this all to help your average resident effortlessly e-file their state taxes. In fact, taxes owed can even be paid online.
There are some people that will not be able to e-file. Things like same sex unions filing jointly still have to be done by hand but the vast majority of people will not have those issues. For most, it is just an easy filing option.
The State of Illinois has gone to great lengths to make filing income taxes electronically very simple. The state does not provide the software to do it but you have options like freeware or paid software. What the state has done is set up the infrastructure to use that software in Illinois. For that, they have done a thorough job with a user-friendly interface.
