In the middle of South Pacific Ocean, not far from the ring of fire zone, a French colony is splendidly sited. It is averagely placed between New Zealand and USA. The technical name of the Colonial Island is Bora Bora, the Society Islands of French Polynesia.

Like Fiji, Bora Bora is isolated, far from external habitation. It is nearest to Papeete, the city that has reasonable commercial value. Dramatic placement of Bora Bora has made it a destination for a few luxury liners and honeymooners.

In the Second World War, this place got recognition as a USA airstrip, holding a formidable array of airships and personnel. The demolition of Pearl Harbor led the Americans to choose this enigmatic place. It never could be used during the war, but nevertheless became famous as an opposite oasis in the vast South Pacific Ocean.

It is so distant that it naturally has to exist on natural crops, rainfall and summer. Yes, relative hike in tourism over the years has opened up avenues. The rural touch cannot be escaped however. People love to walk and sea dive and are almost fearless of the sharks. Bora Bora is an ideal place to gear up and learn the art of scuba diving.

It is a natural beauty punctuated by a couple of semi-active volcanoes and Barrier Reef. When these are viewed in full element from a ship, the sight looks astonishing. The lagoons are accessible from inside as they are fun cars available. Buses are few and far between however.

There is an international airport that takes half a dozen flights every day. This gives an idea that tourism is not very weak. When one considers the aloof positioning of Bora Bora, it looks good enough. French and Tahiti are local languages but English and Spanish has also caught on among the youth.

The honeymooners especially love to lose themselves in the world of Bora Bora. They come here and are engulfed in the South Pacific Ocean with love and ecstasy. The quietude, golden sands, sea canopies and smart hotels provide them with complete entertainment.

Bora Bora is accessible from southwest USA through direct flights.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the world’s largest domestic cat from Queensland, Australia.
There is a new contender for the world’s heaviest cat. Five year old Katy, who lives in Russia reportedly weighs 20kg. Katy’s owners had hoped to have her recognised as the world’s heaviest cat with the Guinness Book of Records however they are no longer accepting nominations in this category as they don’t want to encourage pet owners to overfeed their animals.

Almost every CD I own has multiple scratches on it, and some won’t play without skipping. I’m sure some of you have thrown away CDs because of this problem. I’m going to explain to you the process of removing cd scratches with toothpaste. You may have heard of this technique before, and yes, it works.

Toothpaste is a great polishing compound that keeps our teeth nice and shiny. This is the same concept that will work on your CDs. The most important part of the CD is the actual label on top. The information is burned to the foil on the bottom side of the label. If you scratched the top label, your disk is permanently destroyed.

There are two ways to repair a scratched CD. You can fill in the scratches or resurface the disk. Toothpaste is a resurfacing technique without the fancy equipment.

Clean the disk with soap and water before starting to remove and dirt that may further scratch the CD. Next simply rub some toothpaste onto the scratched CD in a circular motion with a soft towel and it will restore it. It has to be regular toothpaste, not gel. It works wonders, and you will save money on your restored CDs.

Keeping things realistic, your heavily scratched CDs may have no hope. It all depends on the depth of the scratch. Some scratches won’t be repairable, but most will.

Do not get the disk wet before playing it. If it gets even a little wet before the disc was put in the drive, toothpaste could all over the drive internals.

Another good way to remove scratches from CDs is to use an automotive rubbing compound. This is used in the same technique as toothpaste. This is designed to remove light scratches in your automotive paint, but it works great on CDs as well.

Both of these methods can be used to fix scratched ps2 games, cell phone face, ipod and other video game cd and dvds.

Here you can download trebuchet plans to build a trebuchet, including trebuchet parts & procedure.

Before to the use of cannons , the trebuchet was perhaps the most deadly weapon against a castle. A trebuchet is a medieval weapon used to smash the walls of castles. It was capable of launching a greater payload a greater distance and with more force than any other catapult. The counterweight trebuchet appeared in both Christian and Muslim lands around the Mediterranean in the twelfth century. It worked by dropping a great weight that was attached to the short end of a long arm.

Trebuchets were invented in China in about the 4th century, came to Europe in the 6th century. It didn’t become obsolete until the 16th century, well after the use of gunpowder. Trebuchets were much more accurate than other medieval catapults. The trebuchet was primarily an offensive weapon.

A trebuchet is built using five basic trebuchet parts. These parts include a beam, sling, counterweight, guide chute and most importantly, a frame. The frame supports all other parts including the very heavy, counterweight. The counterweight is pulled by gravity to rotate the beam and thus pulls the sling. The guide chute guides the sling with the object being launched. If you didn’t have a guide chute the object would sling sideways of fall out of the sling. The sling then speeds up to hold the projectile until it gets released.
