Disable Windows Vista Indexing Service

Double-click this icon on your desktop:

Right-click your hard drive and click “Properties”. This window now opens…

Un-check the box “Index this drive for faster file searching” and click “OK”. This window now opens…

Click “Apply changes to drive (Your drive name here), subfolders and files” and click “Ok”.

During the process you might see an error like this…

Do not panic, this is a normal error and Windows Vista is fine. If you see this error just click “Ignore All”.
