How to Stain & Seal Concrete

Thinking about staining a large amount of concrete, such as your driveway? I will discuss how to stain concrete for your small projects. Keep in mind that if you attempt a large staining job and mess up, it will look like a big permanent bad tattoo. With the right process and attention to detail you can really pull off a high quality stain. Let’s begin.

If you haven’t poured the concrete yet, you’ll want to look into dry-shake color & hardeners. This is basically a powered pigment that ads color to the concrete. This method will color the top of the concrete 1/8 inch or more. They have really any shade you want to make so the possibilities are endless with colorizing the surface. This type of stain actually helps makes the concrete denser which will make the color last longer. If you have the concrete layed already you need to use a different process to achieve a concrete stain. The stains with the richest color work chemically with the concrete. The stain reacts with carbon dioxide in the air and becomes harder. Their is a another type of stain that fills particles into open pores in the concrete. This method works great when staining concrete. The stain is usually brushed onto the surface and easily soaks into the concrete matrix. Do not used paint or film formers. These products only stick to the surface and only lay on top of the concrete. This reduced the life of the product and they are not stains.

What is hydrogen used for?

Hydrogen has the most quantities of all the elements and makes up at least 75% of normal matter by mass and 90% by number of atoms. By mixing strong acids with metals, Hydrogen was produced and formally described by Paracelsus, who was also unaware that this is a flammable gaseous element. It was only rediscovered and reproduced by Robert Boyle through the blending of iron and acids that resulted in the production of Hydrogen gas.

The first use of Hydrogen was for lime lights which are previously used for theatres and music halls. When James Dewar liquefied Hydrogen, he used it for his new invention which was the vacuum flask. Hydrogen was later used by Henri Giffard for his hydrogen-lifted airship that was called Zeppelins by the German count Ferdinand von Zeppelin.

Today, Hydrogen is commonly used in large petroleum and chemical industries. It is used in a wide variety of applications. Other uses of this element are also for production of new elements such as ammonia, methanol and hydrochloric acid. Others are for commercial uses like automotive, power generation and telecommunications.

Since Hydrogen is a flammable element, it is now used for weapons development such as the most dangerous Hydrogen bomb and other high tech weapons produced.

To date, Hydrogen is the number one fuel that is used for most vehicles and will be used continually in the future. It can also replace natural gas for heating and cooling homes and waters used at home.

The advantages of using Hydrogen for automotive particularly for fuel is, that it is a very clean fuel and its byproducts are only heat and water. On the other hand, it is also feasible to air pollution and the production of this chemical, and its storage is not cost efficient and requires a lot of funds to store it. Many automotive companies are researching plans to build a hydrogen generator for cars.

Is oil renewable?

How is oil made? Planktons which are the remains of dead plants and animals are buried deeper under the earth as time goes by and eventually turns into oil and gas due to heat and pressure. From there it reaches the sea beds and starts to form with the layers of sedimentary rocks. As the layers form through the years, organic material forms and turns into petroleum that contains rock. Petroleum becomes oil only if there are enough amounts of heat and pressure. This is the reason why oil is also called “mature” petroleum because this is where source rocks that are heated with enough amount before it turns to oil.

Where is oil found? The source rock where petroleum possibly exists is called a play. This is a group of earthly grounds that may contain a large probability of oil or gas underneath. These are the places where oil can be found. There are specific tools and gadgets used in finding oil underneath a play. Some people use seismic surveys and geographical analysis to make sure that oil is produced in a certain area or ground.

How does oil work? The oil’s main purpose is for lubrication. It is used mostly in machines that are made for different purposes like car engines and production instruments used in factories. Without oil, the parts that need lubrication will easily wear out due to friction. For the oil to lubricate an engine part for example, it should be applied enough, not too much and yet not too little, but just right. The oil’s contents can help in the proper functioning of an engine and prolong its durability, plus improving its operation by reducing noise and energy consumption. Other functions of oil is protection of the engine part from corrosion and rusting by preventing harmful chemicals and elements from getting on the part that may cause unnecessary chemical reaction.

Based on the theories as to how oil was formed, it can actually be rejuvenated temporarily but not renewable, in a sense that if a play has dried out and there are still huge pockets that exists, a deeper drilling is only required to be able to create another production of oil and therefore producing another set of oil from the same ground, which is different from the oil that was first produced from the same play.

What is iron used for?

Iron is a common metal that is now widely used and can be seen practically anywhere. Basically, iron is combined with other elements and is mainly used for construction like building supports, ships and warships and other transportations like cars, planes and buses. In today’s generation, even your everyday things that are used are also made of iron like the cellular phones, computers, television and most electric and electronic appliances. For modern interior decors, iron is also used for furniture in houses and commercial and business establishments.

Although iron is used in most things nowadays, it still comes in different forms and combinations, depending on where it would be used. Wrought iron, for example, contains additives, has low corrosion rate and is more twistable and ideal for window screens and patio furniture.

Alloyed steel, which is a combination of iron and steel, can withstand various temperature and pressure which makes it right for use on building frameworks, chassis or carrier ships and planes.

Cast iron is most commonly used in most kitchens like in the forms of skillets, trays and cooking pans and it has been in use from generation to generation.

As iron is also used in the invention of medical equipments, it is used also for medicinal purposes when combined with iron gluconate, is used as a dietary supplement for people with iron deficiency. The use of supplemental iron is used also animal feeds and other insecticides to protect plants and gardens from pests.

If you realize the uses of iron, there is more to see and discover how useful this element could be, especially when combined with other materials or elements. It goes along with today’s modern technology and will stay until the next centuries to come, whatever the climate would be anywhere in the world.

Tax Relief Checks

Tax Relief Checks, also called Federal Rebate Checks, are issued by the American government to taxpayers including those who have no taxable income but still file their taxes. The amount issued from these checks range from $300 to $1,200 and the more dependents you have the larger the amount you can get. Tax Relief Checks are issued to the common citizen, hoping to help regulate the local government cash flow when the people issued with these checks, use them to buy goods from the local market. In return, it could generate revenue on several businesses and other suppliers who produce the good bought or purchased. Some who have received these checks can also use it to open a small business that could also help improve the economy by the profit it produces and is used to pay for taxes keeping it from being stagnant.

Although these are only some of the ways you can use your Tax Relief Federal Rebate Checks, there are other ways of spending them wisely which was issued by the Federal Board. Since most Americans have problems paying credit card bills, the checks can be used to lessen the monthly credit card bills. The can also be used to pay common expenses like the heaters, gasoline and mortgages. You can also try paying the school tuition for the whole year instead of on a monthly basis to save on interest rates, so as paying for annual memberships from fitness centers or health clubs where they give special discounts for cash full year payments. Also try to purchase energy-saving appliances and bulbs that you will use to save more on your electric bills.

Citizens are reminded though that these rebates will not affect your Social Security benefits because it is solely used as tax credit. In fact, the money that is taken out from your paycheck will still go to your Social Security and the check that is sent to you is an advance on a tax that is refundable on your tax return.

The purpose of these checks is to let consumers keep their money more and use the checks issued to them.

Tax Relief Checks and Federal Rebates are only sent to qualified taxpayers. These checks are issued on specific dates announced by the Federal Board.

Signs of Cheating Men

Is your boyfriend hiding something from you? Is he becoming aloof with you now when he used to be so sweet and thoughtful? Does he miss important dates when he used to surprise you on your birthday or your anniversary? These may be some questions that show that you doubt a boyfriend who has changed attitude towards you because he might be seeing someone else. So, here are some signs that your boyfriend is lying on you.

You notice frequent grooming. If your boyfriend is not the grooming type, and is now conscious about his looks and outfit whenever he goes out, whether or not he’s with you, then you should think again. If he starts buying new clothes or getting a hair cut more frequently than the usual, he might be doing this to impress his “significant other.”

Another sign of a cheating boyfriend is when you smell other perfume that is feminine and is not yours! If you’re living together, he would go straight to the shower as soon as he gets home. When you get home, you discover on the bed a different color and texture of hair that is not both you and your boyfriend’s.

When the phone rings or when your boyfriend is talking to somebody on the phone, either he says it’s the wrong number or he always asks the caller to call later, (like when you’re not around but of course he won’t let you know that!). If it’s work related, he may use this call as an excuse for an emergency meeting and that he should go to the office even in odd hours (like midnight). He even does stay late in the office more often than usual and will tell you he won’t have dinner at home. This just means that he might be having dinner with the “other woman” after he checks out his office after 5.

Sex becomes history. If your boyfriend used to be thrilled and excited at seeing you in your favorite lingerie, he might be seeing another woman if he doesn’t even notice your sexiness wearing that skimpy shorts and the tube top while doing house chores. Or when you seduce him to make love to you and he always makes excuses like getting tired from a whole days work or having a headache, toothache or whatever pain he might feel when in reality he doesn’t!

These are just some of the signs that your boyfriend or man is lying, but it is always better if you set a trap for the benefit of the doubt.

Signs of Lying

Basically, lying is the act of deceiving someone by trying to hide the truth for different reasons. There may be several types of lies that are made by the human being and it may or may not harm another, whether it is made orally or in written form. Despite the classifications of this act, the signs and symptoms also vary, depending on the type of lie done. But, we will only talk about the traits of a habitual liar and the signs and symptoms a liar may manifest. The first question is how does one know if the person is a habitual liar?

Well, liars show verbal and non-verbal signs that will tell you that you are talking with a habitual liar. Verbal signs are the obvious traits because it shows while they are talking, such as stuttering, getting tongue-tied and even some are having grammatical errors and clearing their throat or making distractive noises. These are very indicative signs when a person is lying. But what if he/she doesn’t say anything? How will you know if one is lying or not? Of course if there are verbal signs of lying, there are also non-verbal signs that will show that a person is lying. The most reliable indicator of a lying person is the face. When you look at a liar directly in the eyes, he/she tries to avoid looking at you straight, while he/she tries to lick, pucker or tighten his/ her lips. Another indicator is the hands that are kept close or with interlaced fingers and doesn’t move much, almost getting stiff.

In general, habitual liars tend to play with objects, groom themselves particular the hair by running fingers through it. Still others just sigh and take deep breaths trying to appear relaxed when obviously they aren’t!

However, the so-called “pathological liars” are quite different from habitual liars, because most of them may be suffering from personality disorders. Symptoms of this disorder include exaggeration, manipulation and doing extreme defensive measures whenever they are questioned. Pathological liars think that they are always telling the truth when actually they don’t say anything but lies and just make up stories about themselves or events or even about other people which is actually all lies. They the ones that are harder to communicate with than habitual liars who can do less harm that pathological liars.

Uses for Vicks Vapor Rub

Well, when I was growing up I was told that vicks vapor rub would take care of the breathing problems, and the stuffed noses that I got from colds. When you play outside in the rain or the snow, your most likely going to get sick and that will have you rubbing vicks vapor rub on your chest to help with breathing, and your stuffed nose. This is one of the many uses that vicks vapor rub has been known for, but there are other uses as well.

Vicks has is quite a bit of uses, such as: you can use vicks vapor rub to take care of toenail fungus. It’s funny how a product that is suppose to take car of your breathing can take care of your toenails as well. Vicks vapor rub and Listerine both cure toenail fungus due to their powerful antiseptics. Simply rub a small amount on the infected toenail once or twice a day for best results. If you have a cough, you can rub vicks on the bottom of your foot which will help your cough. Wow, you talk about some strange ways to help get better.

Vicks is also known for pain reliever, which is good for those who have achy muscles from working all day. As I continue to do some searching, i keep finding that people want to know about or have been asking about what are the uses, and each one is pretty much the same. They all want to know about putting vicks on baby’s feet, or if they are sick to put the vicks on the bottom of the sick persons foot which will help take care of the colds breathing, and stuffed nose or coughing.

Someone Stole My Catalytic Converter!

I received a call from my father today because someone stole a catalytic converter on his Toyota Tundra. He started his truck to go home from a normal day at work and hear a loud explosion. “It sounded like I blew the engine and that’s what I immediately thought.” Well turns out, some got underneath his truck with a reciprocating type saw and cut one of the two catalytic converters off his truck. The proceeded to cut the second one off but only made one cut. We are thinking that something scared them off.

The funny part about this story is that he works in a gated and fenced in government hospital in Memphis, TN. Someone had to walk up to his vehicle with a saw and make a large amount of noise making 3 cuts in the steel pipes connected to the catalytic converters. Anyone who has cut steel knows that it is extremely loud. The hospital has a security team and cameras surrounding the building but this act was not caught on tape, seen or heard. This makes me wonder, what if someone was screaming for help, or in serious danger? Why were the security cameras not working?

Our guess is that the thief wanted to sell or recycle the catalytic converter for money and the truck was an easy accessible truck due to the higher ground clearance. It still baffles me that someone could do this and get away with it on this type of property.

Homemade Lock Picks

Lock picking a old stuff from those days. There are plenty of methods to pick locks, some are authentic and while others are totally off the board. To learn more about lock picking we first need to know on the mechanism on which locks work. There are different types of locks available in the markets and each works in its unique way, but there is a small principle common to all locks. How does a lock work? Locks comprise of three main parts key pins, driver pins and the plug or shaft. Both driver and key pins are immersed in the plug, they prevent the plug from opening up. These pins are of different heights depending on the keys dimension, so when the right key is inserted and opened the pins align such that the plug can rotate and the lock opens, this is the basic principle behind the working of a lock.

Lock picking is an art, there are many kind of picking depending on the type of lock which is to be picked, Lets see a few important picks

  • master lock picking
  • pick combination lock
  • picking locks with a paper clip

Picking a master lock needs ample knowledge because there would be 64,000 possible lock combinations, all you need to do is finding the last number of the lock, then using this we can find the others numbers and bring the combinations possible combinations to 100. Try out the 100 combinations and pick them.

Picking a combination lock is easier than the picking a master lock, it uses a combo principle using both the principle of the pad lock and other lock principles. So first figure the lock principles that has been used with it, once identified find a cracking principle for the over lying lock, they can have any locking principle, so slip them off and then the picking narrows down to padlock picking as explained above.

Now comes the real mastery, picking locks with paper clips, may sound funny and easy but requires a huge deal of patients, open and straight up a paper clip, the bend it by joining the two ends now twist them make a swirl with it. Then insert it into the keyhole, put the tension wrench into the bottom of the keyhole and push it in. Apply pressure and turn it clockwise and maintain the pressure, now insert a straight paper clip into the top of the keyhole, then find the pins and push them down.
